SHEET PAN CLEANING TECHNIQUES

Tired of seeing dingy sheet pans cluttering up your kitchen cabinets? Don’t worry! Below are some effective methods to get your sheet pans looking as good as new.

Method One: Baking Soda & Water

To start, grab a small bowl and mix baking soda with a couple of tablespoons of water to create a paste. Spread this mixture evenly across the surface of the dirty sheet pan and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Next, scrub away the dirt and grime using a nylon pad, sponge, or brush until you’re satisfied with the results. Finally, rinse the pan thoroughly with warm water and dish soap.

Method Two: Baking Soda & White Vinegar

Begin by measuring out an equal amount of baking soda and white vinegar. Sprinkle the baking soda over the dirty pan and then pour the vinegar over it. Allow the two ingredients to react for a few minutes. While waiting, fill your sink with hot water and submerge the pan for 30-60 minutes. After soaking, use a nylon pad or steel wool to scrub away any stubborn grime. Wash the pan again with soap and warm water after scrubbing.

Method Three: Baking Soda & Hydrogen Peroxide

Start by mixing baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in a 1:1 ratio to form a paste. Spread this paste evenly over the sheet pan and let it sit for a minimum of 2 hours and up to 8 hours. Once the mixture has had time to work its magic, wipe it off with a paper towel and water. Scrub any remaining grime with a nylon pad, sponge, or brush. Finish by washing the pan with hot water and dish soap.

Method Four: Hydrogen Peroxide

For this final method, put on rubber gloves and soak a paper towel or dishcloth with hydrogen peroxide. Rub the cloth over the sheet pan to saturate it, then place the cloth flat on top of the pan to cover the entire surface. For larger pans, you may need multiple cloths. Let the pan sit for at least 2 hours, or up to 8 hours for heavily soiled pans. Afterward, remove the cloth and scrub the pan with a scouring pad in hot water. Finish by washing the pan with hot water and dish soap.

Now that you’ve got these four effective ways to clean your sheet pans, you’re all set! The best method for you depends on how much time and effort you're willing to invest.
