New engine goes right into service

Buffalo Grove Fire Department officially placed their brand new Ferrara Igniter engine into service just after lunch today, and it didnâ€™t take long before it was called into action. Within three hours, the engine responded to two medical emergencies and a major vehicle extrication incident. The first call came in when police reported a car had driven into the Rainbow Cleaners located at 482 Half Day Road, near Buffalo Grove Road. Upon arrival, officers found three people injured, including the driver who was trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters quickly worked to remove the roof of the Lexus and safely extracted the driver, who appeared to be in stable condition. The other two victims declined transport and signed release forms. This quick response highlighted the readiness and efficiency of the departmentâ€™s newest unit, which is already proving its value in the field. As always, the team showed professionalism and care under pressure, ensuring everyone involved received the necessary help.
