This afternoon, the Buffalo Grove Fire Department responded to a call about a fire at the back of a residence on 214 Navajo Trail. When the police arrived, they confirmed the presence of a fire before the fire trucks showed up. The initial team to arrive noticed smoke at the rear of the single-story house and quickly deployed a hose. They found flames near the back of the house, specifically beneath the patio door. Using one hose, they managed to extinguish the fire while another unit entered the house to ensure it hadn't spread.
Following their initial efforts, additional resources were brought in for safety. A second pre-connected hose was deployed from the Tower Ladder 25, showing how swiftly the department mobilized its resources. The fire was contained and put out relatively quickly, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the firefighters. Once the flames were under control, only minor cleanup was required as the team began removing some of the deck planks to complete the overhaul process.
Mutual aid support came from neighboring departments including Arlington Heights, Lincolnshire, and Long Grove, highlighting the collaborative nature of firefighting operations in the area.
