Barrington Countryside FPD news (more)

From recent reports on ChicagoTribune.com:

Officials from the Barrington School District 220 are expressing concerns over potential traffic bottlenecks and increased noise levels due to the proposed construction of a third fire station by the Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District. The fire district has spent $500,000 to acquire an acre of land, including an existing house, at 36 E. Dundee Road. This site lies between the Barrington Middle School – Prairie Campus and the Early Learning Center within District 220.

Although the fire district intends to convert the current home into their third fire station, their plans indicate that only limited operations will be conducted from the new location. However, school authorities remain worried about the impact on daily traffic patterns during peak hours when parents drop off and pick up their kids. Additionally, the sound of sirens may disrupt younger students attending classes nearby.

In response to these worries, District 220 officials are considering purchasing the property themselves to enhance vehicular movement between the two educational facilities. The proposed third station wouldn't house traditional fire engines but might instead accommodate administrative offices and sleeping quarters for on-duty firefighters.

This new station aims to cut down response times significantly across the entire service area, especially for critical cases such as heart attacks and strokes, which account for approximately 85% of all calls received by the fire district. Instead of deploying large firefighting vehicles, the station will likely store a rapid response vehicle—essentially a high-performance SUV equipped with essential life-saving gear like defibrillators and stroke intervention tools.

"Swift action is crucial when dealing with emergencies related to cardiac arrest or strokes," explained Keith Hanson, president of the fire protection district's board. "Our goal is to have two responders arrive swiftly and initiate CPR or other necessary treatments immediately." To mitigate some of the school district's apprehensions regarding heightened activity levels, the fire protection district has pledged to restrict the use of the SUV to roughly two missions per day, employing sirens sparingly except under circumstances necessitating urgent traffic clearance.

Fire Chief Jim Kreher emphasized the importance of establishing this third station in optimizing overall emergency response capabilities. "Our jurisdiction spans 48 square miles, so having this additional base will allow us to serve our community more effectively," he stated. Furthermore, Chief Kreher mentioned that collaboration extends beyond their immediate region, providing mutual aid to neighboring departments in Barrington and the Palatine Rural Fire Protection District.

Hanson acknowledged the possibility of scaling up operations at the third station in the long term, potentially incorporating more staff and resources. For now though, the fire district’s governing body has earmarked $2 million for upgrading and activating the facility by next spring."

These developments highlight ongoing discussions between local educational institutions and emergency services as they work together to balance community safety with operational efficiency.

Spiral Pipe Screw Conveyor

Install adjustment:

1.The screw conveyor can not be installed until the dust stuck during transportation or unloading

is cleaned.

2.Material groove center line and screw shaft should have an appropriate coaxial degree.

3.The drive device and the screw shaft should have a right coaxial degree.

4.The static equilibrium test should be carried out after the screw is installed.

5`After the conveyor installed, check whether there is any debris in the machine and if the lubrication is enough.

6.During the no-load test, the bearing should be oil-tight, and the bearing temperature should not be higher than 20℃. During the load test, the temperature of bearing should not exceed 30℃.

Attentions

(1) Lubricate the bearings, gears, chains and other transmission parts regularly.

(2)When the box-to-send machine stopped, check the abrasion of the spiral blade and repair and weld it when it wears seriously.

(3)The conveying amount can not be overloaded, otherwise the material will not be discharged, which may cause the screw shaft bending and box expansion.

(4) In the operation of the conveyor, if the noise is harsh, you should open the lid to check it and troubleshoot.
