Infrared Heater Mounting Options

Wall Mounted Heaters

Our infrared heaters can be installed on walls either horizontally or vertically. Not every patio or outdoor gathering area has a ceiling or cover suitable for overhead heaters. In such cases, Infratech heaters can be directly attached to the wall.

Being able to install an infrared heater virtually anywhere on a wall significantly expands your customization options. Wall mounting allows you to heat areas that might otherwise be challenging or awkward to keep warm. Some walls may even permit a flush mount, where the heater is installed flush with the surface – although this is quite rare due to several practical considerations.

Pole Mounted Infrared Heaters

Our infrared heaters can also be mounted on poles. This is particularly beneficial for patios with poles positioned on the side opposite the house or building. Pole-mounted heaters eliminate the need for unsightly portable heaters that take up valuable floor space. Your pole could be part of a fence or serve as a support beam for an overhead patio.

Ceiling Mounted Patio Heaters

One of the most popular mounting options; ceiling-mounted infrared heaters are generally the easiest to install, require minimal clearance, and feature a sleek design that blends seamlessly into any setting. When mounted on the ceiling, your heaters remain out of the way, providing you with more usable floor space. Our heaters come in various strengths and can effectively heat areas up to 7-11 feet away.

Flush Mounted Heater

The most sought-after heater mounting option is the flush mount frame. A flush-mounted heater is simply a heater installed into a recessed pocket so that it sits flush with the ceiling. This option is highly desirable because it truly integrates the heater into your decor. The seamless installation looks fantastic, but this mounting option is considerably more complex to execute.

A flush-mounted heater should only be installed by an experienced contractor or certified installer. First, a fire-resistant pocket must be created in the ceiling where the heater will be installed (ensuring proper clearance from fans and other combustibles). Then, the flush mount frame for the heater must be installed within the fire-resistant pocket. Finally, the heater is installed onto the frame inside the pocket, ensuring it sits flush with the ceiling. Without following proper procedures or using the correct materials, operating the heater could pose a fire hazard. Therefore, it's crucial to have a professional handle the installation.
