SHEET PAN CLEANING TECHNIQUES

Tired of seeing dingy sheet pans cluttering up your kitchen drawers? We've got you covered with some tried-and-true methods to get those pans shining like new again!

Sheet Pan Cleaning Techniques

Method One: Baking Soda & Water

Start by mixing a small amount of baking soda with just enough water to create a paste. Spread this paste evenly across the surface of the dirty sheet pan and let it sit for about half an hour. Afterward, use a nylon pad, sponge, or brush to scrub away the grime until you're satisfied with the results. Finally, rinse thoroughly with warm soapy water.

Method Two: Baking Soda & White Vinegar

First, measure out equal parts of baking soda and white vinegar. Sprinkle the baking soda over the sheet pan and pour the vinegar on top. Allow the mixture to fizz for a few minutes as the chemical reaction takes place. While waiting, fill your sink with hot water and submerge the pan for 30 to 60 minutes. Once soaked, scrub the pan using a nylon pad or steel wool until clean. Finish by washing with warm soapy water.

Method Three: Baking Soda & Hydrogen Peroxide

Create a paste by combining equal amounts of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Apply this paste evenly onto the sheet pan and leave it to sit for at least two hours, but no longer than eight hours. Wipe off the paste with a damp paper towel before scrubbing stubborn spots with a nylon pad or brush. Conclude by cleaning the pan with hot soapy water.

Method Four: Hydrogen Peroxide

For this final technique, put on rubber gloves and soak either a paper towel or dishcloth in hydrogen peroxide. Rub the cloth over the sheet pan to ensure even coverage, then drape the cloth over the pan completely. Multiple cloths might be necessary for larger pans. Leave the pan undisturbed for two to eight hours depending on how dirty it is. Remove the cloth after the allotted time and scrub with a scouring pad under hot running water. End with a thorough wash using hot soapy water.

With these four methods at your disposal, you can tackle even the toughest baked-on messes on your sheet pans. Choose the approach that best fits your schedule and preference for elbow grease.
