Therefore, the development of a diesel/natural gas dual-fuel engine tailored for oil drilling rigs has become a pressing need. It is reported that the Zhongshi system will gradually replace existing diesel engines with dual-fuel engines on suitable rigs, aiming to dramatically lower drilling costs. Once the technology is stable, mature, and reliable, it will be expanded into the international drilling rig power market. Beyond its primary use in gas-rich fields, diesel/natural gas dual-fuel engines can also serve as new power solutions for fixed power generation, natural gas gathering and transmission compressors, and other industrial applications in China.
