Qilu Petrochemical's QS series PVC sack packaging line at the chlor-alkali plant has recently been completed and officially launched. This marks a significant milestone in the plant’s efforts to enhance the packaging standards of its PVC products, further strengthening its position in both domestic and international markets.
Previously, the factory only offered 6 x 25kg pouch packaging for the QS series PVC. However, there was no infrastructure in place for large-bag packaging ranging from 500kg to 1200kg. Market research revealed a notable demand gap for large-bag packaging of QS series PVC in key regions such as Guangdong, as well as in Europe and the United States. In these areas, large-bag packaging commands an average price premium of around 100 yuan over smaller bag options, making it a highly attractive market segment.
In the face of intense competition between ethylene-based and calcium carbide-based PVC products domestically, the plant has recognized the importance of upgrading its packaging solutions. Adding large-bag packaging capabilities is seen as a crucial strategy to boost competitiveness. This year, under the principle of “low input and quick output,†the company successfully upgraded its 1100kg large-bag packaging system. From project approval to equipment procurement, construction, and final commissioning, the entire process took just four months. This rapid implementation has paved the way for the timely introduction of large-bag products into the market, giving the company a competitive edge and better meeting customer needs.
