As of the 28th, all passenger ships directly operated by Xiajin have successfully installed the Automatic Identification System (AIS). This move marks a significant step forward in enhancing maritime safety and operational efficiency in Xiamen Bay.
According to recent reports, before the "May 1" holiday, a total of 25 sea-going passenger vessels operating in Xiamen Bay will be equipped with AIS technology. Once integrated into the Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) system, this technology will greatly improve the accuracy and detail of vessel identification. It will also allow the maritime traffic control center to monitor passenger ships more effectively, ensuring timely provision of navigation support and emergency response.
Additionally, the implementation of AIS is expected to enhance communication and coordination among vessels, reducing the risk of collisions and improving overall safety on the water.
It has been revealed that the Maritime Safety Administration will continue to implement effective measures to ensure the safety of water traffic within its jurisdiction. For example, they will maintain daily patrols at sea, with particular emphasis on the Xiamen Golden Channel, where inspections will be conducted at least once per day. Any potential safety hazards that could disrupt the normal flow of navigation will be identified and addressed promptly.
This proactive approach reflects the administration's commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly maritime environment for both commercial and recreational vessels.
