The new type of mower developed by the farmers won the national patent

Jiang Jun, a cattle farmer from Majin Village in Huiyuan Township, Shuncheng District, has spent years and invested nearly one million yuan to develop an innovative type of mower. Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office issued a patent authorization letter to Jiang Jun, making his new mower the only agricultural machinery product in Liaoning Province to receive national patent certification. This achievement marks a significant milestone in his journey as an agricultural innovator. Jiang began raising cattle back in 2002 when he imported 100 high-quality cows from Australia and New Zealand. Always eager to improve efficiency, he purchased several types of mowers in 2003 to support his farming operations. However, after using them for some time, he noticed that the mowers were not performing well. The grass utilization rate was only around 70%, and the quality of the cut grass was poor. The cows didn’t like to eat it, and even when they did, they had trouble digesting it. Two cows died due to digestive issues, which deeply affected Jiang and inspired him to find a better solution. Despite having no prior experience in machinery manufacturing, Jiang took it upon himself to learn. He visited bookstores across the city, buying numerous mechanical engineering books and studying them thoroughly. Whenever he encountered difficulties, he sought advice from experts and worked tirelessly to solve problems. His determination caught the attention of Bu Zhihong, director of the Agricultural Machinery Bureau in Shuncheng District. Recognizing the potential of Jiang’s idea, Bu provided technical support and guided him in designing the mower. The bureau also helped raise funds for his research and development efforts. In November 2005, Jiang successfully developed a multi-functional mower and submitted it for a patent. The device was praised for its high grass utilization rate and broad application range. Experts from the State Intellectual Property Office evaluated the mower positively, acknowledging its practical value and innovation. Today, Jiang's invention stands as a symbol of perseverance, ingenuity, and the power of self-driven innovation in rural agriculture.
