The new type of mower developed by the farmers won the national patent

Jiang Jun, a cattle farmer from Majin Village in Huiyuan Township, Shuncheng District, has spent years and invested nearly one million yuan to create an innovative type of mower. Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office issued a patent authorization letter to Jiang Jun, making his new mower the only agricultural machinery product in Liaoning Province to receive national patent certification. This achievement marks a significant milestone for local farmers and highlights Jiang Jun’s dedication to improving efficiency in animal farming. Jiang Jun began raising cattle back in 2002 when he imported 100 high-quality cows from Australia and New Zealand. As a forward-thinking farmer, he started purchasing various types of mowers in 2003 to meet the feeding needs of his herd. However, after using them for some time, he noticed that the existing mowers were inefficient—only about 70% of the grass was being used, and the cows didn’t like eating it. Even when they did eat it, they had trouble digesting it. Two cows died due to digestive issues, which deeply affected him and sparked the idea of developing a better mower. Despite having no prior experience in machinery manufacturing, Jiang Jun took it upon himself to learn everything he could. He scoured the city, buying books on mechanical engineering and studying machining techniques thoroughly. Whenever he faced challenges, he sought help from experts and never gave up. Bu Zhihong, director of the Agricultural Machinery Bureau in Shuncheng District, learned about Jiang Jun's project and saw its great potential. He arranged for technical staff to provide regular guidance, helping Jiang Jun with design drawings and problem-solving. The bureau also helped raise research and development funds through multiple channels, supporting his innovation. In November 2005, Jiang Jun finally completed the development of a multi-functional mower and submitted it for a patent application. This new model offered higher grass utilization and broader applicability. The State Intellectual Property Office sent experts to evaluate the device, who praised its practicality and innovation. With this success, Jiang Jun not only improved his own farm operations but also contributed to the advancement of agricultural technology in his region. His journey reflects the power of perseverance, learning, and innovation in rural development.
