Third, if the first ring is severely worn, remove the nylon ring and apply asbestos-based grease. Wrap it with a thin stainless steel sheet that's slightly taller than the original nylon seat, then fill the space with more grease. Finally, secure the nylon seat with a bolt to compress it back into place.
Fourth, if the seal box and cast iron seal lose their elasticity, take out the seal and cut a piece of cardboard (6–10 mm thick) to fit the size of the tank. Place it inside the cast iron housing and re-install the seal. This helps maintain the proper compression.
Fifth, if the rubber ring around the oil hole is damaged, take a piece of tape, cut a hole slightly larger than the bolt, and place it along with a flat washer over the bolt before inserting it into the hole. This can help prevent further leakage.
These methods are practical and cost-effective solutions for minor leaks, allowing you to extend the life of your submersible pump without immediate replacement. Always make sure to test the pump after repairs to ensure the problem is resolved.
