Rescue squad has three lives

I just came across some fascinating photos and details about a 1991 Ford/Saab rescue vehicle that has quite the history. This particular rig started its service life with the River Grove Fire Department. From there, it moved on to the Franklin Park Fire Department, where it served for several years. Eventually, it found a new home with the O'Fallon Underwater Search and Recovery Team in St. Clair County, Illinois. Back when it was with River Grove, it was known as Squad 564, and it played a crucial role in their operations. The Franklin Park Fire Department later acquired it and rechristened it as Rescue 1. Finally, after serving them for a while, it transitioned into its current role with the O'Fallon team, now operating as Dive 1. It's always amazing to see how these vehicles move from one department to another, carrying with them a piece of each place they’ve been. I’ve included some images below to give you a better look at how the rig evolved over time. These photos really highlight the journey of this particular vehicle, showing how it adapted to different roles and departments over the years. It's a great example of how fire service equipment often gets repurposed and continues to serve long after its initial assignment.
