Perkins-Syncro series new 2.8 engine Asian premiere

Perkins first revealed a new four-cylinder engine to the Asian audience at the just-concluded Shanghai BMW Show, with a displacement of 2.8 liters.

This new model is part of the Perkins Syncro diesel range. The four-cylinder series is available in two different displacements: 2.8 liters and 3.6 liters. All configurations are based on common rail fuel injection. The power range is from 45 kW to 100 kW (60-134 hp), which can be implemented around the world and will be implemented in the future. A number of emission regulations have been issued, including the EU V phase and the US 4 final emission standards.

These newly developed Perkins 2.8-liter and 3.6-liter engines are designed to fit on more than 80 types of mobile equipment; for the OEM customers who are looking to expand their new export markets and grow their business, these power platforms offer exceptional performance and high performance. Value and high reliability must not be what they expect.

The high power and torque density of this series of engines can help the OEM to match a more compact engine. The reduced body size increases power density by 22% overall, resulting in excellent fuel economy, faster response and high electronic integration. These are the necessary power advantages for OEMs to develop differentiated products and improve competitiveness. .

This series of 3.6-liter models has a maximum power of 100kW (134hp) and a maximum torque of 500Nm. The 2.8-liter model has a supercharged intercooler configuration with a maximum power of 55kW (74hp) and a maximum torque of 325Nm. Models can save up to 8% fuel consumption when the main engine is running.

The Perkins Syncro range of engines features advanced technologies including common rail injection systems, full electronic control, advanced air systems and aftertreatment. The universal parts between the 2.8-liter and 3.6-liter platforms are up to 90%, allowing the OEM to have greater flexibility in designing the mainframe products, without having to make too many changes to the structure to meet the emission requirements of different markets.

Oliver Lythgoe, product marketing manager at Perkins, said: “With new breakthroughs in fuel systems, control systems, predictive engineering and post-processing technologies, we have helped a lot in designing the latest 2.8-liter and 3.6-liter engines. Ensure that these platforms provide the most suitable power solution for a wide range of non-road machinery such as wheel loaders, tractors, telehandlers and excavators.” With a modular design, these engines are easily accessible. Integrate into existing devices and even next generations of devices.

“Today's global construction machinery manufacturers want to sell their products to different parts of the world to diversify their business and expand their growth base to ensure stable profits. But if you design different hosts for different regions, you can't afford the cost. Our Perkins Syncro The series adopts modular design, so that the OEM can use the same host design to support the highly versatile power system to meet the emission standards of different regions, thus saving a lot of design resources.” Perkins Global Sales & Marketing & Services & Parts Vice President Chris Snodgrass further introduced the advantages of the product.

The new engines will be manufactured at a production line that has been in operation for many years at Perkins' UK headquarters and are expected to be commissioned soon; at the same time, Perkins is also planning to expand capacity in Asia and North and South America to join the Perkins Syncro range. This cross-regional production layout will ensure shorter lead times and a faster and more stable supply to local OEMs, helping their businesses achieve the desired growth.

Perkins also has a number of different post-processing options for these two-displacement engines, including engine mounting and mainframe mounting options, giving customers the freedom to choose. All of these solutions are optimized to fit a variety of hosts.

Manager Li Yuhua said: "With continuous efforts to update technology and design principles, we have successfully reduced the size of the aftertreatment system by 40%. We have also utilized the diesel particulate filter (DPF) and selective catalytic reduction system over the past five years. A large amount of experience accumulated in (SCR), the final conclusion is to adopt a compact two-stage filtration system, which gives customers more flexibility, helps them meet different emission standards around the world, and enjoys many benefits, such as universal installation. Solutions and streamlined production processes, etc."

Vice President Xin Yili added: "Perkins has delivered more than 20 million engines to its customers since its establishment in 1932, proving that our products can achieve superior performance under real application conditions. The new Perkins Syncro engine is definitely in The lineup of our engineering machinery lineups makes this already extensively extensive lineup more powerful; all models meet the requirements of the OEM for high reliability, high productivity and cost-effective powertrains, all Can adapt to different emission standards around the world."
