In October 2010, the country imported 19,087 tons of various types of titanium dioxide, a month-on-month drop of 3,847 tons, which was the lowest month of the year except February; from January to October, the cumulative total of imported titanium dioxide was 220,955 tons, an increase of 20,876 tons year-on-year. Titanium dioxide imports will reach about 260,000 tons.
In October 2010, the national export of titanium dioxide was 25,209t, a decrease of 1,951 tons from the previous month, which was the lowest monthly export since the second half of the year. From January to October, the total amount of exported titanium dioxide was 204,191t, an increase of 122,820t, an increase of 151%. It is estimated that about 250,000 tons of titanium dioxide will be exported throughout the year.
