The annual production capacity of the facility is expected to reach 400,000 units. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first Sino-foreign joint venture established by Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd., one of China's largest engine manufacturers. The joint venture, Beijing Foton Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., was set up with a total investment exceeding 2.7 billion yuan.
The company specializes in producing the latest generation of Cummins' 2.8-liter and 3.8-liter inline four-cylinder high-pressure direct-injection light-duty diesel engines. These engines are designed for high performance, strong starting power, and low emissions. They are used across a wide range of vehicles, including light trucks, pickup trucks, SUVs, MPVs, small construction machinery, off-road equipment, and power systems.
With the establishment of this new factory in Beijing and the existing 100,000-unit production base at Foton Aoling Power, the region now has an annual engine production capacity of 500,000 units. According to Foton Motor’s long-term plan, the company aims to build the world’s largest engine production base in Beijing, with a target of producing one million units annually in the future.
