Beijing Foton Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. and Cummins Inc., is now operating with an annual production capacity of 400,000 engines. As China's largest engine manufacturer, this partnership marks a significant milestone in the country's automotive industry. The company, backed by a total investment of over 2.7 billion yuan, focuses on producing the latest generation of 2.8-liter and 3.8-liter inline four-cylinder high-pressure direct-injection diesel engines. These engines are known for their high performance, strong starting power, and low emissions, making them ideal for use in light trucks, pickup trucks, SUVs, MPVs, small construction machinery, off-road equipment, and power systems.
With the establishment of this factory in Beijing and the existing 100,000-unit production base at Foton Aoling Power, the region now has an annual engine production capacity of 500,000 units. According to Foton Motor’s long-term plan, the company aims to build the world’s largest engine production base in Beijing, capable of manufacturing one million engines annually in the future.
