Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, September 8 (Reporter Zhang Yi) The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released its monthly auto production and sales statistics on the 8th. In August this year, domestic automobile production and sales increased from the previous month. From January to August, the national automobile production and sales amounted to 4,638,400 and 45,342,200 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 25.37% and 24.58%. Among them, the increase in sales of passenger cars is more than 20 percentage points higher than that of commercial vehicles. The increase in passenger cars is far higher than that of other models. The sedan has become the main force driving domestic automobile consumption.
Statistics show that in August this year, automobile production and sales showed a certain increase over the previous month, of which the increase in sales was significantly higher than the output. In August, the production and sales of automobiles were 504,800 and 528,100, an increase of 1.23% and 13.06% from the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 14.25% and 26.06% respectively.
From January to August, the country produced and sold 3.325 million vehicles and 3.2259 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 33.32% and 31.77%; commercial vehicles sold 1.125 million and 1.3083 million vehicles, an increase of 8.90% and 9.79% respectively.
From January to August, sales of the top ten automotive companies were: SAIC, FAW, Dongfeng, Chang'an, BAIC, Chery, GAC, Hafei, Geely and Brilliance, which sold 785,530 units, 748,600 units and 579,600 units respectively. 44.80 million, 438,600, 181,100, 182,500, 175,800, 131,000 and 128,600. From January to August, the above-mentioned ten companies sold a total of 3.8011 million cars, which accounted for 83.83% of the total automobile sales in China.
