The drag coefficient is directly proportional to the car's fuel consumption. Therefore, reducing the air drag coefficient has important practical significance for reducing the fuel consumption of the car. According to tests, when a car is travelling at 80 km/h, 60% of the fuel is used to overcome wind resistance.
