Breakthrough in key technologies for electric vehicle parts

At the recent 2013 China Automotive Energy Forum, Ouyang Minggao, head of the 863 energy-saving and new energy automotive major project expert group and professor of automotive engineering at Tsinghua University, said that China has broken key technologies for electric vehicle parts. Lithium-ion battery performance has been significantly improved, fuel cell performance has been steadily increasing, and costs have dropped dramatically. At present, China’s battery capacity is 20 billion watt-hours per year, which is the largest in the industry.

Ouyang Minggao recalled the development of new energy vehicles in the previous three years. As of the end of 2012, 27,000 electric vehicles in 25 model cities have been put into demonstration operations, and 170 types of charging and switching stations have been established, with more than 8,000 charging piles. One. Among them, the number of vehicles that were promoted in 2012 increased by 1.4 times compared to 2011, and the number of pure-electric passenger cars was nearly 7,000. In general, the hybrid development of passenger cars in our country is better than that of cars, and the most promising one in the future is pure electric small cars. "Compact and intelligent, to achieve integration of car network, power grid and transportation network." He said.

“Our country needs to strengthen research on power battery safety technology and system integration. Fuel cells must be based on durability research. Battery power and natural gas to provide vehicle power are also a good development path.” Ouyang Minggao also said, “ The demonstration of thousands of vehicles in the Ten Cities should be continued until 2015, and the scope of subsidies will no longer be limited to pilot cities, and the subsidies will be changed to vehicle manufacturers.

Ouyang Minggao disclosed that as part of the Blue Sky Initiative, Beijing plans to promote the application of 50,000 types of electric vehicles by 2015. Beijing's new energy vehicle promotion program involves a number of public vehicle applications. By 2015, one-third of Beijing's public transport vehicles (about 8,000 vehicles) will be converted to pure electric or hybrid vehicles; about 10,000 businesses and taxis will be upgraded to pure electric or hybrid vehicles; private electric vehicles will be used. In terms of car promotion, Beijing plans to add or update 30,000 electric vehicles by 2015.

At the forum, China Automotive Energy Outlook 2013 was formally released. The report pointed out that according to the current automobile development trend, until 2030, China's vehicle fuel consumption will show signs of slowing growth. The peaks that may be reached until 2050 will bring enormous energy and environmental pressure. For a very long period of time in the future, China's vehicle energy is still dominated by traditional petroleum fuels, and the contradiction between supply and demand for gasoline and diesel still exists. After 2030, energy sources such as biofuels, electricity, and hydrogen will gradually play an increasingly important role in replacing petroleum fuels.
