Authoritative report: Fuel cell vehicles will be produced by Daimler and Honda.

According to the American media autoevolution report, the auto industry is currently working hard to develop vehicles that can use hydrogen fuel. Although this road is promising, it is also difficult. The PikePulse report from the latest Pike Research (PikeResearch) shows that Daimler and Honda are the two leaders in the development of FCVs. Previous reports have confirmed this, and this report adds that the automotive industry’s interest in this area is increasing.

Senior analyst Lisa Jerram said that automakers will use 2014 or 2015 as the deadline, and will continue to improve their products for the new fuel cell vehicles. In order to achieve this goal, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) must continue to try and improve their fuel cell systems as well as vehicle integration and optimization. At the same time, they will also work to reduce vehicle costs.

Daimler scored the highest overall score on the PikePulse report because of its clear approach to manufacturing FCVs with commercial interest. However, the report also pointed out that the company had no experience with hydrogen fuel in the past and was once disappointing.

The report pointed out that Daimler had once stated his ambition to declare his readiness for fuel cell technology, but the announcement did not come true. Daimler has recently advanced its target period from 2015 to 2014. If it cannot be achieved within the announced date, Daimler's position will quickly change.

FCXClarity, a fuel cell vehicle launched by Honda, and its efforts to launch the car, ranked second in the report after Daimler. It is reported that in addition to Daimler and Honda, Toyota and Opel plan to launch fuel cell vehicles.
