Because of more and more fierce competition in the field of flanges, some companies sell poor quality flanges to the markets instead of selling good quality, which brings the buyers too much trouble to choose. Pure price competition is not workable, it is much better to know about flanges, which can help buyers to find out the right flanges for themselves, there are four quality levels for flanges:
First level: it is the forged steel from big company. The material includes 20# steel, Q235, their thickness and out diameter are same as international standards. These flanges are used in national big project, with very good quality from the buying the material to inspection of the finished flanges, the quality is strictly controlled for every process. We supply very good flanges by using such good material.
Second level: Some smaller factories buy flanges from smaller steel companies, their out diameter and dimensions are similar to the international standard, but it is not assured about the chemical composition, so the material is not stable. Sometimes there is much higher manganese, or much higher content of carbon. It is no problem to visual inspection the dimensions, but they are the flanges with poor material instead of qualified flanges.
Third level: There are 200-400RMB differences in the price but with 1-3mm in the dimensions, these flanges are mostly for wholesale in the shop. They are supplied to the buyers as the national standard. So, the material and dimension are not assured. There are variety of material, such as scrap steel, forging casting. So, keep an eye on the problems.
Forth level: it is the nonstandard flanges. It is very hard to tell the price of such flanges. It was used to less 5mm in the thickness, less about 10mm in the out diameter. But with the pierce competition, nowadays flanges can only assure the welding and center to center space, others are ignored.
The above mentioned four flanges are the current situation in the market. Buyers must pay more attention to choose the flanges in the big project, and buy first level flanges, sometimes the cost is higher in the price, but the quality is guaranteed. If you do not care about the pressure, you can also choose second level flanges, they are the recent acceptable goods. It is not suggested to buy third and forth level flanges.
