It is reported that Optimarin has received a contract from the Grieg Shipping Group to install a ballast water treatment system for its 10 open hatch bulk carriers being built by Hyundai Miura Shipyard.
It is reported that Grieg Shipping Group decided to purchase its system after evaluating Optimarin's extensive operational experience in ballast water treatment. After testing, obtaining type approval and practice inspection, Optimarin was the main reason for this contract. The bulk carrier can transport 48,700dwt of cargo and will install an Optimarin ballast water system with a capacity of 1200 cubic meters. The first two systems will be delivered to Hyundai Ouura in October this year, and the new ship is scheduled to launch in 2012.
