China's CNC machine tool development will strive to solve the problem of big but not strong

The continuous investment in major science and technology projects for "high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment" from 2009 to the present shows the government's determination to develop high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment. In 2010, the output of CNC machine tools in China reached 236,000 units, an increase of 62.2% year-on-year. In 2010, the consumption of CNC machine tools in China exceeded 6 billion USD and the number of units exceeded 100,000 units. CNC machine tools have become the mainstream of machine tool consumption.

Under the background of economic development, strong support of national policies, and revitalization of the upstream and downstream industries, the vigorous demand for the CNC machine tool industry in China will continue to grow at a high speed. In particular, high-end CNC machine tools will usher in a larger market space, in the next 3-5 years. The growth rate of the CNC machine tool industry in China will reach around 12%. This will inevitably bring about the market development of China's domestic CNC machine tools and its numerical control systems and related functional components. It will undoubtedly provide excellent opportunities for domestic CNC system manufacturers to continue to develop their own technologies and expand the market.

Looking ahead to the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, the development of CNC machine tools in China will strive to solve the problem of large but not strong hosts, lagging development of numerical control systems and functional components, large gaps in key technologies of high-end CNC machine tools, low product quality stability, and poor overall economic returns in the industry.
