European stainless steel surcharge fell again

According to relevant media reports, due to the weak demand and falling alloy prices (including nickel, ferromolybdenum, and ferrochromium), the stainless steel surcharges of European mills fell again in September, and the 304, 316, and 430 stainless steel alloy surcharges were 1,325 euros/ton, respectively. EUR 1980/t and EUR 500/t. In September, the European 304/2mm stainless steel cold coil transaction price will further drop to 2345-2485 Euro/ton. The market expects that there will be no significant improvement in demand in the short term and the price trend is not optimistic.

The United States AK Steel also recently announced the September 2012 stainless steel surcharge policy.

After adjustment, the AK Steel 304 alloy surcharge was US$0.7331/lb in September, down 2.9% from US$0.7550/lb in August; the 201 alloy surcharge was US$0.5069/lb, down from the US$0.5132/lb in August. %; 316 alloy surcharge is 1.0407 US dollars / pound, compared with 1.102 US dollars / pound in August fell 5.4%.

The surcharge for the 430 steel alloy in September was 0.2425 USD/lb; in August it was 0.2258 USD/lb.
