Western China crude oil pipeline project has started testing section is under construction

According to news from the Xinjiang Petroleum Administration Bureau, the western China crude oil product pipeline project has officially started. After the project is completed, it will be able to open up a new pipeline for the transportation of crude oil and refined oil in western China, including Xinjiang. At present, the 8.8-km trial section has been started and built in Shanshan County, Xinjiang. The project was designed and constructed by China National Petroleum Corporation and the total investment of the project is estimated at RMB 14.6 billion. The pipeline passes through 25 counties and cities in Xinjiang and Gansu with a total length of 3,968 kilometers. It is understood that the western crude oil product pipeline project includes two crude oil pipelines and seven sub-transmission feeder lines for crude oil pipelines and refined oil pipelines, of which crude oil pipeline trunks range from Shanshan, Xinjiang, to Lanzhou, Gansu, with a total length of 1,550 kilometers. Tarim, Tuha, and northern Xinjiang's three major oil fields, the design of crude oil blending capacity of 20 million tons; product pipeline pipeline length from Urumqi to Lanzhou 1840 kilometers, designed to transport 10 million tons. According to the plan, the refined oil pipeline will be completed and put into production by the end of 2005, and the crude oil pipeline will be completed and put into operation in 2006. The 8.8-km experimental section under construction in Xinjiang is expected to be completed on September 30 this year. This pipeline project is currently the largest domestic design, the longest distance, the highest pressure pipeline. It is reported that the western crude oil product pipeline to be constructed will jointly form a strategic route for the transmission of West-Eastern oil with the China-Kazakhstan oil pipeline, linking China’s Xinjiang, Gansu, and the oil pipelines and petrochemical enterprises in the east and southwest regions to form a western oil pipeline network. To achieve effective docking of resources and markets and ensure energy supply in eastern China. After the completion of the pipeline, it can relieve more than 20 million tons of transport capacity per year for China's railway transport, and at the same time reduce the number of transshipment links and reduce transportation and marketing costs.
