Expert Comments: China's auto parts industry to achieve "three"

Editor's note: Yan Jianlai, Director of Parts and Components Department of China National Automobile Industry Association, believes that the development trend of China's parts and components companies should focus on group development, international cooperation, modular production and supply, and greater development efforts.

He believes that the current overall level of China's auto parts is: the mainstream parts and components of the company's manufacturing level has reached the international level in the late 1990s, basically meet the domestic requirements for the introduction of models; basically formed a relatively complete host supporting system. Formed a component industrial base represented by Changchun, Shanghai, and Hubei; a parts and components group represented by Wanxiang, Fuao, Dongfeng Components, Hunan Torch and Yanfeng; A large number of export-oriented enterprises, some products have expanded from the traditional aftermarket to the OEM market.

The main problems in the current parts and components industry are: the increase in imported parts and components; the increase in the number of foreign-owned companies; the fierce competition in the parts and components market; the dependence on parts dependence is very prominent: excessive dependence on the main engine plant, excessive attachment to the main vehicle model, excessive dependence on local Government; International procurement for China does not really come.

Regarding the development of China's parts and components industry, Yan Jianlai said that there are no investment restrictions on the components of the policy environment, there is no equity limit, and there are no product restrictions. China's auto parts industry has a certain potential for development, including a certain level of production and quality; wide product coverage, easy to form a localized collaborative network; relatively high labor quality, relatively low labor costs; high-speed growth in the domestic market for support. The lack of development of China's parts and components industry is due to the fact that, except for a few dominant companies, the overall technological level of parts and components companies is not high, and most of them do not have the ability to independently develop and synchronize with mainframes; the production scale is too small to meet the requirements of the international OEM market; Inadequate control capacity, especially product consistency; lack of high-quality technology and business personnel.
