I just got some awesome photos from my buddy Steve Redick about the Chicago Fire Department's turret wagons. He really outdid himself this time! There's a fantastic shot of Engine 42's firehouse with Big John inside—it’s such a cool glimpse into their world.

And here’s another one of the same rig—love how detailed these images are. You can almost feel the weight of history in them.

But wait—there’s more! Steve also stumbled upon an incredible picture of Big John. This one is especially sentimental to me because it shows not just the machine but the heart behind it all.

It’s moments like these that remind me why I’m so fascinated by firefighting culture. These vehicles aren’t just tools—they’re symbols of courage and teamwork. And thanks to Steve and Tim, we get to see pieces of that legacy up close.
Man, I wish I could thank everyone involved personally for sharing these gems. They’re seriously something special. If anyone else has similar photos or stories, I’d love to hear them!
