Major scientific research project "Development of high performance stripe camera" passed acceptance

[ China Instrument Network Instrument R&D ] On May 22nd, the development of the national high-tech streak camera research project undertaken by the Shaanxi Xi’an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, passed the acceptance. Zhang Tao, a deputy dean of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a member of the party group, attended the acceptance meeting. The acceptance expert group was headed by Liu Wenqing, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and researcher of the Hefei Institute of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The successful acceptance of the project indicates that China's high-performance stripe camera with independent intellectual property rights has entered the practical level.

The streak camera is the only high-end scientific measurement and diagnostic instrument with both high time resolution (fs–ps level) and high spatial resolution (μm level), which plays an indispensable role in the research of time-resolved ultrafast phenomena. The development of the streak camera involves many disciplines such as optics, optoelectronics, ultra-fast electronics, microelectronics, precision machinery, and computers. The development has a high starting point and is difficult. At present, only a few units in China have preliminary research and development capabilities. As a highly sensitive cutting-edge technology, the international academic research results of stripe cameras and the sharing of device and equipment are very low. Foreign related technologies impose a strict blockade on China, and strict control over export of striped cameras.

In January 2012, under the planning and support of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Finance, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Xi'an Opto-Electronics Co., Ltd. launched the “Development of High-performance Stripe Cameras” project, aiming at the time resolution, dynamic range, and synchronization frequency of high-performance striped cameras. The improvement of major technical indicators has solved various process problems and engineering implementation problems in the preparation process of stripe cameras, and the design of short-time magnetic focusing electron optical system in front of the traveling wave deflection plate, design of anisotropic focusing electron optical system, and high performance Photovoltaic cathode production process, vacuum transfer sealing process, ultra-fast ramp pulse generation circuit, electronic pulse air conditioning system technology and other key technical fields have made a series of breakthroughs and achieved a number of innovative results.

The successful development of the project has the potential to improve the level of China's precision measurement instruments and to break the international blockade, replace imports, achieve independent development and production of ultra-fast diagnostic related technologies and instruments, and meet the needs of national major projects, national strategic high-tech and cutting-edge scientific fields. It is an extremely important strategic driving role that has solved the dilemma of the high-end scientific instruments that are subject to human control.

In his speech, Zhang Tao fully affirmed the achievements made by the project and pointed out that the project team should continue to work and take the project acceptance as a starting point for new work, continue to promote breakthroughs in core key technologies, maintain the core competitiveness of equipment and equipment, and further strengthen the science of equipment and equipment. The application will promote the production of major scientific research results; realize the industrialization and promotion of research and development instruments as soon as possible, better serve the frontier research of the national foundation, and meet the international strategic needs.
