Here's a message from Christopher Holmes:
I recently found out that the Sugar Grove Fire Protection District has decided to sell their aerial ladder truck.

The seller's website is available here. This aerial ladder truck is being sold due to the lack of expected commercial retail development in the first-due area after the economic downturn. The district is replacing it with a fire rescue pumper that better suits the community's needs. The aerial ladder is in excellent condition and has very low mileage.
A shortened excerpt from the meeting minutes about the sale of surplus equipment is shown below:
You can find the full meeting minutes here, where they approved the sale:
This decision reflects a shift in priorities for the department as they adapt to changing community needs. It's interesting to see how local fire departments manage their resources over time, especially in response to economic and demographic changes. If you're interested in the truck or want to learn more about the process, checking out the full meeting minutes would be a good next step.
