China National Heavy Duty Truck's output fell sharply by 50% in the fourth quarter of 2008


China National Heavy Duty Truck announced on Monday (January 12) that the company's production and sales of heavy trucks fell sharply in the fourth quarter of 2008 from the third quarter of the previous year, with output falling by more than 50% and sales volume falling by more than 40%.

The company said that in the fourth quarter of 2008, the production of heavy trucks was 8,140, ​​which was a decrease of 54.55% compared with the production of 17910 in the third quarter; the sales in the fourth quarter was 9,799 units, which was a decrease of 42.02% from the sales of the 16902 in the third quarter.

The company also pointed out that the company produced a total of 75,664 heavy-duty trucks in 2008, a year-on-year decrease of 2.72% compared to the same period of 2007; in the whole year of 2008, it sold 79,218 units, an increase of 8.73% over the same period of 2007.

In addition, the company’s actual controller, China Heavy-Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd., accumulated production of 106,400 units in 2008, an increase of 6.16% year-on-year; cumulative sales were 112,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 11.33%.
