Technological backwardness is a major bottleneck for environmental protection development. Without the breakthrough of advanced and applicable technologies, it is impossible to make major breakthroughs in energy conservation and emission reduction and industrial development. Among the key state-monitored enterprises identified by the State Environmental Protection Administration, there are 3,592 waste gas pollution sources and 3115 waste water pollution sources, of which 482 are waste gas pollution sources in the petroleum and chemical industries and 803 are waste water pollution sources.

The reporter learned that due to the lack of economical, reasonable and reliable environmental protection technologies, some companies want to treat pollution, but there is no way to achieve it. For example, in the production of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides and other crude drug species, the chemical oxygen demand in the discharged wastewater is as high as several thousands to tens of thousands of milligrams per litre; dyes and pigments have a wide variety of waste water pollutants and the components are complex. , Water quality, water volume range, high concentration, poor biodegradability, handling is very difficult.
