Car wheel standards regulations are increasingly strict

With the growing emphasis on the national automobile safety regulations and standards , more and more relevant standards concerning automobile wheels have become increasingly strict.

A few days ago, at the “2014 China Wheels Industry Annual Meeting” held by the Wheel Committee of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, relevant persons from the Wheels Committee of the National Automobile Standardization Technical Committee introduced the standard release of automobile wheels to participants.

With the growing emphasis on the national automobile safety regulations and standards, more and more relevant standards concerning automobile wheels have become increasingly strict.

According to reports, in 2013, the National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee issued a total of five new industry standards, namely: passenger spoke disc wheel mounting dimensions on the wheel hub; commercial plane to install the wheel nuts; commercial plane fixed Nuts test method; Strength test of automotive wheels for lighter and slower seats; Wheel balancer for cars.

So far, there are 18 industrial standards concerning automobile wheels formally promulgated by the government, including two major categories of dimensional inspection methods and performance requirements and test methods.

It is reported that there are currently three industry standards awaiting approval for automobile wheels, including the paint coating on the surface of automobile wheels, the inspection method for the installation dimensions of spoke wheel on hubs, and the requirements for static imbalance of vehicle wheels and detection methods. There are two standards to be submitted for approval. They are the requirements for vehicle wheel runout and detection methods, and the 90°C impact test method for passenger car light alloy wheels.

In addition, the standards being developed and revised include: safety performance requirements and test methods for automotive wheels; flatness requirements and inspection methods for automotive wheel mounting surfaces; and 15°C deep groove wheel static stiffness test methods for commercial vehicles. The standards to be developed include: impact test methods for commercial vehicle wheels; biaxial fatigue tests for automobile wheels; use of wheel and rims for road vehicles, general maintenance and safety requirements, and scrap conditions.

It is understood that due to a variety of reasons, the wheel production industry is currently in a state of confusion, the technical level of various manufacturers is uneven, and the low-end production capacity of some products is seriously excessive, but new investment is still being added. In this regard, relevant industry sources said that stricter industry standards have a certain role in promoting the status quo of the vehicle industry.
